The Angel of Hope memorial stature at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Pineville, Louisiana is a peaceful place of solace that provides hope and gives parents an opportunity to reflect and grieve. The statue depicts a child angel with its arms stretched upward. It was inspired from the book "The Christmas Box" by Richard Paul Evans. In his book, a mother weeps at the base of the statue trying to cope with her grief from the loss of her child. This book and its story has inspired over 80 Christmas Box Angel statues to be placed around the nation. Ours is the first one in the state of Louisiana. Please take a look at "The Christmas Box Angel" Statue (link at the right.) We hope that it becomes "your" angel and you will find comfort in its presence. Our mission statement, the location of the statue, news and upcoming events can be found here. Our Beloved Angels (link at the right) contain the many stories of children of all ages who have been taken from us in Louisiana. We also include the memorial bricks that people have bought and the person they are dedicated to. Our "Christmas Box Angel" memorial statue was dedicated on December 6, 2007 and we are actively finishing up the surroundings. The brick patio will be laid early in 2008. Our hope is to make the area surrounding the "Christmas Box Angel" as comfortable and lovely as possible. You can click on the link for Our Fundraising to find out how you can purchase your own memorial brick or how to make donations. On the Our Resources link to the right, you will find all the people, businesses and organizations who have donated time, energy and money into this wonderful project.
