Our "Christmas Box Angel's"
First Candlelight Vigil
On December 6, 2007, the Central Louisiana's "Christmas Box Angel" Memorial Statue held its first Candlelight Vigil. The response to this event was outstanding, and therefore confirmed the necessity of this memorial in Louisiana.
On this cool December night at the Mount Olivet Cemetery in Pineville, LA., a crowd of people, eager to sign the memorial book, lined the drive leading to the "Christmas Box Angel" statue. Father Fred Tinsley asked the group to gather in for the ceremony. The hymn "All my hope on God is founded" opened the evening's events. Bible verses from Psalms and Isaiah led into Pam Schroeder reading the dedications for all the bricks purchased for the statue's patio. All those attending were asked, if they felt moved, to place a flower at the base of the statue and say the name of the person that they were here to commemorate. The event was concluded with the song "Eagle's Wings" and a closing prayer.
